FanDuel Sportsbook Review Overview
FanDuel opened its first online sportsbook on September 6, 2018 for players in New Jersey. However, its relevant online experience as one of the top DFS sites in the country dates back to 2006. Therefore, unlike many of its competitors, which entered the sports betting business much later with little prior experience to guide them, FanDuel was well-prepared from the get-go. With the successful New Jersey sportsbook as a model, FanDuel wasted no time expanding its sportsbook offerings to other states as soon as it was legally possible. FanDuel now operates legally in 18 US states and Washington, DC.
Besides being one of the biggest sportsbooks in the country, sports betting industry insiders and customers alike rate it one of the best. The average user ratings displayed on the App Store and Google Play for its iOS and Android apps are higher than those for any other sportsbook. In addition, when our experts rated FanDuel Sportsbook on multiple important criteria, we concurred that in most categories, its performance is outstanding. An extremely wide range of betting markets and bet types, competitive odds, and suitability for small players and newbies are some of the areas in which FanDuel particularly excels.
FanDuel Sportsbook Look and Feel
We scored FanDuel Sportsbook 10/10
First impressions count, so when you open a mobile betting app or sportsbook website for the first time, before even reading any of the content, you should like what you see. If the layout on the screen looks cluttered and the text is too small or hard to read, that is an immediate turnoff. Another red flag is inadequate labeling of different types of important information. Sports bettors are in a hurry and don’t want to waste valuable time searching all over a poorly organized betting site.
Rest assured, at FanDuel Sportsbook, you won’t encounter these issues. FanDuel does an excellent job of organizing and labeling its content, (lists of sports on the left side, odds in the center, and bet slip on the right). So, you should not have any problems quickly locating what you are looking for and finalizing your bets.
Also, while many sports bettors couldn’t care less about color or the lack thereof, for me, an aesthetically pleasing experience matters. Far too many betting sites are predominantly black, white, and gray, which is a mystery because a touch of color would improve the appearance significantly. FanDuel’s color choice is predominantly different shades of blue against a white background. There is enough color to not appear drab without creating sensory overload with an overabundance of intense hues.
Lastly, FanDuel Sportsbook deserves special mention for the outstanding quality of its mobile app. With average ratings of 4.9 out of 5 on the App Store for the iOS app and 4.6 out of 5 on Google Play for the Android app, the FanDuel Sportsbook mobile app could be the best sports betting app on the market.
FanDuel Sportsbook Betting Selection
We scored FanDuel Sportsbook 10/10
Part of what makes sports betting so exciting is the variety of different sports, leagues, games, and bet types, and this is an area where FanDuel shines. FanDuel Sportsbook offers betting action on 24 different sports. In addition, FanDuel is one of the best places to find competitive odds. FanDuel frequently charges less juice than other sportsbooks.
Of course, FanDuel Sportsbook offers NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and college football and basketball bets, along with other frequently bet sports like boxing, golf, MMA, Olympic sports, and tennis. However, those who are so inclined can also place wagers in less frequently bet sports like handball, lacrosse, and table tennis, and even betting markets that are rarely offered at other American sportsbooks like snooker, volleyball, and water polo.
If you follow any international leagues and want to bet on them, no problem. For example, FanDuel has betting lines on Euroleague basketball games and NCAA, Japanese, Korean, and minor leagues baseball.
FanDuel accepts all of the following betting types:
- Moneyline bets
- Over/Under bets
- Prop bets
- Parlays, including same game parlays (SGPs)
- Futures
Same game parlays are especially popular, and Fanduel customers can choose between two ways to bet them. You can build your own SGPs with the game and components of your choice. Or you can click on the “Parlay Hub” tab and choose one of the site’s preselected SGPs. Live betting, which FanDuel offers in 20 sports, is also very popular, and FanDuel bettors can combine it with live streaming and optional early cashout for an extra edge.
FanDuel customers in Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania also have access to FanDuel Casino.
FanDuel Sportsbook Bonuses and Promotions
We scored FanDuel Sportsbook 8/10
FanDuel Sportsbook used to offer first-time users who lost their first bet a second chance bonus bet. However, the sportsbook discontinued that offer and now offers the following welcome bonus instead. No promo code is necessary.
- First-time users who deposit and make an initial real money bet of at least $10 will receive $150 in bonus bets if the first bet wins.
You then have up to seven days to use the bonus. You can either make a single bet or multiple bets. If the bonus bet wins, you will receive the winnings from the bet but not the bonus money used to place the bet.
This is a great offer for small bettors. However, it holds little value for high rollers since the potential $150 bonus might be only a small fraction of their usual bet size.
FanDuel Sportsbook also has bonuses and special promotions for existing customers but not as many as some sportsbooks offer. One ongoing promotion is Refer A Friend. Every 30 days, you can use your referral link to invite up to five friends to join. Then, for each friend who responds and deposits and bets $10 or more, you both get $50 in bonus bets.
Another type of promotion at FanDuel Sportsbook consists of a profit boost for a specific game. For example, you might be offered a 30% profit boost on a 3+ leg SGP on an NBA playoff game on a certain day.
Bonuses and promotions can vary depending on your state. For example, bettors in New York might be offered a profit boost for an SGP involving the NY Yankees.
Unfortunately, FanDuel Sportsbook does not offer a loyalty rewards program.

While deposits (except for wire transfers and checks) are instant, withdrawal processing times typically range from the same day to five business days. However, checks can take up to 14 business days.
FanDuel Sportsbook Support
We scored FanDuel Sportsbook 8/10
FanDuel Sportsbook offers three ways to get customer support:
- Their FAQ page
- Live chat
To access any of these options, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the homepage. The FAQ section is organized by topic into separate articles, and you may have to read several of them, which can be time-consuming. Alternatively, you can try live chat or email.
Unfortunately, FanDuel does not offer phone support. However, the hard-to-find but very informative Sports Betting 101 section is perfect for beginners.
LowPlays Verdict
FanDuel Sportsbook overall score is 8.8/10
FanDuel Sportsbook may not have the best bonuses and promotions and the banking and customer service could also be better, but for the variety of bets at competitive odds, it is an excellent choice. The site is surprisingly user-friendly, too.
LowPlays highly recommends FanDuel Sportsbook for all of your sports betting needs.
