Horseplay Review Overview

Sports bettors and casino players have unique gaming preferences, but Horseplay Casino is different. It is a social gaming casino/betting site founded in 2012 and currently managed by Game Play Network.

But it’s unlike most social casinos and sportsbooks. Horseplay blends casino gaming and horse racing betting, where your winnings are conditioned on the outcomes of real-time horse races.

I know the idea behind this type of betting sounds a bit confusing, but trust me, it’s an acquired taste. I had the same reservations when I made my first Horseplay bet because I didn’t really know what I was doing. Once I got on board with the gameplay style, everything else started falling into place.

The support team was helpful and quick to respond to my queries on chat and email, and there are more than a few guides and articles to answer your questions. I would have appreciated a few more payment methods, but you’ll have to make do with the ones available, which are mainly oriented toward card and bank payments.

I could complain about the number of games, which is fewer than 100 titles, but that’s half the story. Horseplay frequently releases new titles. Albeit at stretched intervals, new games are steadily piling up to expand the Horseplay game portfolio.

Horseplay Look & Feel

Horseplay has a modern look and feel thanks to the advanced and technically superior design compared to some middling sites. It’s smooth sailing from the moment you land on the main Horseplay page. You can get the actual feel of operating the site even without creating an account, but opening one gives you full access and a complete view of the gameplay interface and navigation menus.

When you land on the main page, you’ll see a few promotional banners. One scroll down will show you the main navigation menu. It includes the following game categories: All Games, New Releases, Spinners, Reel Classics, Arcade, and More Great Games. The categories are pretty self-explanatory.

The site and game software performed surprisingly smoothly. At LowPlays, we rarely review casinos, sportsbooks, or social gaming sites that perform without an issue, hence our pleasant surprise. Loading delays, page crashes, performance lags, and other commonplace technical issues were almost non-existent.

The Horseplay app – available for iOS and Android systems – is faithful to the quality of the desktop design and its functionality. The reason LowPlays’ gave a lower score to the game section is strictly due to the small game portfolio and insufficient diversity. Currently, there are fewer than 80 games, of which 8 are arcade games, one bingo-style game (Primo Bingo), and the rest are slots.

Now, you can’t start playing slots immediately after you make a cash deposit. Instead, you must deposit and purchase a package of credits. When you purchase credits, Horseplay automatically uses them to place cash wagers on live horse races. The wagers are equal to the amount of your purchase package.

Then, you can proceed to play one of the available casino games and any winnings will be uncovered during the gameplay. This is strictly for fun. Winnings from horse races are transferred to your Cash Account, which you can use to bet anew or cash them in.

In addition to the small game selection, the diversity is also limited. Apart from the single bingo game and a few arcade-style games, the rest are slots. Fortunately, Horseplay and its partners release new casino titles regularly, and the game menu is slowly but steadily building.

Horseplay Bonuses & Promotions

On the bonus front, Horseplay shows great diversity with a broad selection of promotions for new and existing members. I will provide a quick overview of some ongoing deals, but keep in mind that new deals are often released and old ones can expire or be replaced. First, I must mention the lack of mainstream social gaming bonuses such as daily login offers and no deposit deals.

The bonus selection includes hourly bonuses and rewards; weekly deals; weekend casino bonuses, and a mixed choice of tournaments. Some of the bonuses and promotional packages on offer include:

• Friday Heat Wave Frenzy – This promo runs weekly Monday through Thursday. It awards between 5% and 15% back as Freeplay credits for purchases from $50 to $301. You can earn up to $50 in free play credits.
• Horseplay Happy Hours – Available every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from  4-7 PM PT / 7-10 PM ET. It awards up to $20 back on losses daily within the designated 3-hour window as Freeplay credits (up to $60 weekly). Terms apply.
• Reload Bonus – This promo is available every Saturday and Sunday and offers 10% back on losses (up to $100) in the form of free credits. To qualify, you must wager $20 or more during the eligible promo period. Other terms apply.
• Horseplay Tournaments – Daily, weekly, and monthly tournaments are a standard fixture at Horseplay Casino. You must opt in to participate, collect points, and rank on leaderboards to earn Freeplay cash prizes.

Of course, Horseplay takes care of new players with a first deposit bonus. When you deposit $10 – $500, you qualify for a match bonus ranging between 100 – 200% depending on how much you add to the platform. The bonus is, unfortunately, tied by 10x wagering requirements.

Horseplay Banking

The banking options at Horseplay are a bit scanty. The platform supports transactions (deposits and withdrawals) with only a handful of methods. You can deposit and/or withdraw with Visa, Mastercard, Instant Bank Transfer, Online Banking, and ACH transactions.

However, despite the limited options, the banking terms and limits favor low-deposit gaming for casual players. The minimum deposit is a fixed $10 across all payment methods, while the minimum withdrawal is $1. The site charges no internal transfer fees.

A deposit is a must if you want to earn or win redeemable cash prizes. After you deposit, you can choose one of the available credits packages. Remember, Horseplay places wagers on upcoming horse races when you make a credits purchase, and if those bets win, you can redeem your credits by playing casino games or cash them out.

Note that you do have a say in what racing wagers are placed. Select ‘See Wager Details’ to see the available bet types and the race you’ve placed your money on. Use the “Reshuffle My Wagers” option to pick a different race.

The banking policy and payment/payout limits make Horseplay a site worth considering for any small-budget player. I started off with a small $20 deposit and gained about $80, not counting my deposit.

Support at Horseplay comes in many forms. The Help center offers guides and onboarding articles, alongside channels for direct communication with support assistants. You can also seek direct help using the Horseplay live chat, but you must first become a full member and open an account.

You can send an email to support@horseplay.com, and a reply should follow within a 24-hour period.

However, based on my experience with Horseplay, you will find most, if not all, answers via the Help Center and on the Terms of Use page. To access either page, scroll to the bottom of the main Horseplay page, and you’ll see the Help and Terms of Use buttons. The Help page offers dedicated support on banking, payouts, buying and using credits, gameplay and betting, and account issues.

Horseplay also has a dedicated dispute resolution department. This should be a last resort for settling serious problems and possible infringement on your rights guaranteed by Horseplay’s user policy.

Horseplay is a great entertainment platform if you’re practicing a recreational gameplay style and you’re drawn to horse racing betting and slots. The concept of betting on horse races and playing casino games to redeem winnings is quite original and innovative, but not groundbreaking.

My fellow LowPlays reviewers and I agreed that a few more banking methods and casino games are needed to add more diversity to the site. But even as is, Horseplay is great for casual entertainment. Based on my experience, $10-$20 is all you need to get started and build and maintain a steady credits balance.
