Vegas Gems Review Overview
Vegas Gems is a sweepstakes casino available for US residents of any state except Washington, Idaho, and Wyoming. This platform has two currencies – shards and gems. Shards are the free-play currency and have no monetary value. Gems are the premium currency and can be redeemed for cash prizes at a rate of 1 Gem = $1.
Both currencies can be used to play the games at Vegas Gems casino. If you play using shards, your payouts are in shards. If you play using gems, your payouts are in gems. You can get shards and gems for free from the welcome bonus, daily login bonus, and the AMOE (Alternative Method of Entry) request. In terms of games, you can play 300+ different slots from reputable developers like Pragmatic Play, plus a range of provably fair arcade games like Coin Flip, Crash, Mines, and Towers.
Vegas Gems Casino Look & Feel
We scored Vegas Gems 9/10
I think Vegas Gems casino looks great! It’s got one of the most modern designs I’ve seen from sweepstakes casinos as some look dated. The navigation is easy to understand and there are different menus for the games and treasure chest loot box system.
I like that if you click on your account icon in the top right-hand corner you can quickly see your shard and gem balance, and account level which is important for the treasure chests you can open. The higher level you are, the better daily login bonuses and random treasure chests you gain access too.
There is no mobile app but I tested the mobile responsive browser version on my Samsung. The menu switches to a bottom horizontal menu which I really like as it gives you maximum visibility of the screen elements. Loading times were spot on too and I had no lag when playing the arcade games or slots.
Vegas Gems Casino Game Selection
We scored Vegas Gems 9.5/10
Vegas Gems features the following games:
- Slots
- Provably Fair Arcade Games
- Scratchcards
The slots are provided by third-party developers while the arcade games and scratchcards are developed in-house.
Slots
The slot selection is excellent and I found plenty of classic games I enjoy playing. They are provided by Pragmatic Play, BSG, and Beltara, all of whom have a good reputation for fairness. There are 300+ games to choose from and some notable titles include:
- Big Bass Bonanza Series
- Sweet Bonanza
- Coins of Ra
- Buffalo King
- Gates of Olympus
I found the slot filters useful as you can sort by software developer, popularity, or volatility. I like highly volatile games so I used that filter frequently!
Arcade Games
While I had fun playing slots, the arcade games are where the action is at! Some of these are classic arcade games you can find at multiple sweepstakes casinos like Crash and Mines, but I’ve not seen titles like Towers or Unboxing before. The current arcade games include:
- Coin Flip
- Crash
- Mines
- Unboxing
- Scratchcards
- Towers
- Wheel
I played the Unboxing game A LOT, it’s pretty fun. Essentially, you have to select a bet amount and a number of spins – an RNG system then performs a spin and you get a random gem crate. The prizes can be up to 100x your bet value.
I love that all the arcade games are provably fair too and you can check the results. Just click on the “Game Fairness” link and a pop-up appears where you can check the hash algorithm used to determine the results of a spin.
Vegas Gems Casino Bonuses & Promotions
We scored Vegas Gems 9.2/10
Vegas Gems uses loot boxes for its promotions. Now, I get that some people don’t like these, but I love them and I had so much fun opening the different chests and trying to hit the big payouts. The important thing is that they have full transparency – the percentage chance for each item in the chest is displayed so I was under no illusion of my chances of hitting the top prizes.
For example, the welcome bonus gives you the CHANCE of winning up to 1000 gems. I’ve seen other review sites claim falsely that the 1000 gems are guaranteed. It isn’t. The chance of pulling the Blue Diamond worth 1000 gems is 0.0001%. You’re more likely to get the Radiant or Cushion Diamonds which give 0.70 or 0.40 gems respectively.
This is the only aspect I don’t like about the promos at Vegas Gems – there is no guaranteed amount of shards (the free place currency) so how much you get to play without spending is random. I’ve listed the other bonuses and promotions for this sweepstakes casino below.
First Shards Purchase Bonus
Vegas Gems gives you a chunky first-purchase bonus if you want to buy additional shards. You don’t get any bonus shards but 50% extra gems.
I love that this applies to all of the shard packages too – oftentimes sweepstakes casinos limit the first purchase offer to a couple of set packages. I treated myself to the basic shard package at $5.99 which got me 50,000 shards and 7.5 gems (instead of the standard 5 gems).
Daily Chests
Like most sweepstakes casinos, Vegas Gems has a daily login bonus but it continues with the gem and treasure theme and comes in the form of a daily login chest. It’s essentially a loot box like the ones you find in online games like CoD Warzone.
The rewards include shards and gems and I like how they show the percentage chance you have of getting the different items in the chest:
Item | Gems | Chance |
Musgravite | 0.10 | 44.25% |
Pink Diamond | 0.25 | 25% |
Painite | 0.25 | 25% |
Diamond | 0.40 | 4.2% |
Cushion Diamond | 0.70 | 0.82% |
Shield Painite | 0.80 | 0.58% |
Pear Grandidierite | 1.50 | 0.13% |
Table Diamond | 4.00 | 0.016% |
Table Pink Diamond | 800.00 | 0.00001% |
Needless to say, I never got the Table Pink Diamond! I mainly got Musgravite and the basic Pink Diamond and Painite gems. However, on a couple of occasions, I did get the 0.40 Diamond and Cushion Diamond. Over time, these bonuses add up and there is always the chance (even if slim) of hitting the mega 800 gem prize!
Bejeweled Chests
With the leveling feature of Vegas Gems, you eventually hit “Bejeweled” status at 20k shards. This unlocks a range of features including double XP and access to Bejeweled daily chests.
These are essentially premium chests with higher-value gem rewards. I unlocked the Bejeweled status as soon as I bought the $5.99 pack as this gave me 50k shards. However, I didn’t read the T&Cs properly – Bejeweled status only lasts for 2 hours, or until the daily timer runs out. So, once you hit it, make sure you make the most of it and try to open some Bejeweled chests – I dismissed it, missed the timer, and got nothing!
Raining Feature
A cool rakeback feature is also available to anyone who has made a minimum purchase of $10 in the last 7 days. It’s called the Gem Rain feature and triggers every 60 minutes. When triggered, a percentage of the user’s wagers spent in the last 7 days is evenly distributed between all participants.
You must have approved KYC status and complete a CAPTCHA check too. I never found that this bonus accumulated to a huge number of gems but it helped keep my account topped up.
Vegas Gems Casino Banking
We scored Vegas Gems 7.5/10
At Vegas Gems sweepstakes casino you don’t deposit cash. Instead, you purchase shard packages. Each shard package gives bonus gems. I’ve listed the current shard packages below:
Package Price | Shards | Bonus Gems |
$4.99 | 50,000 | 5.00 |
$9.99 | 100,000 | 11.00 |
$19.99 | 175,000 | 21.00 |
$49.99 | 200,000 | 52.00 |
$70.00 | 225,000 | 75.00 |
$99.99 | 250,000 | 103.00 |
There are packages for $199.00+ too but I haven’t included them as they seem a little extreme. The bonus gems are fantastic, but I don’t like the percentage increase of the shards compared to USD. For example, the $19.99 to $49.99 package represents a 39% price increase. However, the boost from 175,000 to 200,000 shards is only 12.5%.
With that in mind, the best value package in terms of shards per USD is the $4.99 package. However, the best value package for gems per USD is the $9.99 package. When I bought the $4.99 package I used a credit card as this is the only deposit method – the payment was processed instantly.
You can redeem any gems you win too at a rate of 1 Gem = $1. I’ve listed the different redemption methods below:
Redemption Method | Min Redemption | Redemption Fee | Processing Time |
Bank Transfer | 100 Gems | N/A | 3-5 Working Days |
Bitcoin | 100 Gems | $1.97 (per 100) | Within 24 hours |
Ethereum | 100 Gems | $0.77 (per 100) | Within 24 hours |
Litecoin | 100 Gems | $0.77 (per 100) | Within 24 hours |
USDT (ERC20) | 100 Gems | $2.30 (per 100) | Within 24 hours |
Crypto offers the quickest redemption processing speeds but there is a variable redemption fee which can fluctuate depending on crypto gas fees. I found it was typically around 0.5-2%. The redemption process for crypto is easy – just enter your name and wallet address and perform any authentication.
Vegas Gems Casino Support
We scored Vegas Gems 7.5/10
You can contact the support team by email at support@vegasgems.com but I recommend using the live chat. Just click the chat icon in the bottom right-hand corner. There is no AI chatbot so you get straight into the support action.
I used the chat a couple of times and I never got an instant response. The first time, I got a reply from a lady named Serena in around 20 minutes and the second time was a little quicker at 15 minutes. Overall, the support is pretty decent, but be prepared to wait a little for a reply.
Pro Tip – You can click the X to close the chat while waiting for a reply and it won’t close your actual conversation – just click the chat icon again when you see a reply notification and it will load your chat history.
LowPlays Verdict
Vegas Gems overall score is 8.5/10
I had so much fun playing at Vegas Gems casino. It’s completely different from the other sweepstakes casinos I’ve tried and I love the treasure chest system. I found the platform refreshing and it gives an interesting spin on the sweepstakes genre.
I would like to see more consistent shards from the daily login chest, and the lack of table games is annoying, but overall, the 300+ slots and provably fair arcade games gave me so much entertainment. I highly recommend giving this sweepstakes casino a try and hopefully, you can get lucky and hit one of the epic welcome bonus pulls!
